Benefits for Residential Solar Power
As soon as you hear of solar electricity what is that which strikes you first? It is the sun. So, solar electricity is electricity that comes from the power of the sun. We all know that right now there is a huge crisis of non-renewable energy sources.
As a result of that, more and more individuals are opting for renewable sources of energy which will help run the world just the same. Residential Solar Power has emerged as the most important of all alternative energy sources that mankind has thought about and so the big hype in opting for solar electricity over conventional forms of electricity.
Solar electricity has become all the more popular because it offers a wide range of benefits and good options to the persons who use it. It is true that solar electricity may not be very effective in running buses or cars but when you focus on domestic use, residential solar power is the most beneficial. Tha basic sense of its efficiency is the cost factor.
True that the initial investment in the system is slightly expensive but considering the fact that it can run smoothly and with minimum maintenance for more than thirty years at a stretch, the cost is nothing. Additionally, the set up will pay for itself in about five year’s time. I add this because in any average house the total cumulative of monthly electricity bills for five years is more than the cost of the solar power system, if it was installed by a third party company, but if you installed your own residential solar power system the cost will be much less.
It is also a hundred percent environment friendly resource. This means that residential solar power actually helps you keep our planet green for a longer period of time by not adding to all the deterioration that is happening all around. Moreover, it is a source of energy which will work even when the electric lines are down. You can imagine that, during a storm trees are uprooted and all the electric cables get torn.
At such a time, persons using electricity from various electricla companies will suffer and have no power in their homes. However, you, who are using residential solar power, will have light in your house because you are not connected to these cables. So, practically, solar power has more function than the state electricity board.
Also, as I said earlier, you can build your own residential solar power provider and reduce the expenditure behind your solar panels effectively. You can then use this system to heat water, do your laundry, dry your clothes, cook food, light your entire house as well as run your choice channels in the television.
Now, isn’t that swell? So get rid of your electricity service and go for Residential Solar Power today!.

Residential Solar Power, the Pros and Cons
In Europe and other parts of the world solar power already is a choice many people have considered, and in this time of environmental issues it is something we all should be considering to. If we look at the world we live in solar energy is something we should take very seriously. There are two kinds of solar power solutions, you can join a power company who deliver solar electricity from a solar power plant or you can use residential solar power. In this article we will go over the advantages and disadvantages of residential solar power.
There are many advantages to home made electricity and just one of them is the environment, if you are also concerned about the environment but would like to educate yourself and understand all the pros and cons the best place to start is on the internet. Online is the place where you can get information about how to switch to solar energy and what you need to do so. There are a few forums you can visit where people can talk about all kinds of renewable energy and there are also websites that provide you general information about alternative sources of energy.
Renewable and non polluting
One of the advantages is that it is a renewable resource. The sun provides you with energy even on a cloudy day, off course it cannot be utilized at night but during the day there will be plenty energy to harvest, and it is availability day after day.
Another big advantage is that solar energy is a non-polluting form of energy. It is a fact that you will not hurt the environment in any way when you use residential solar power. And there are so many ways you can use it. You can build a residential solar power system on your roof and you can use other products powered by the sun that are very affordable, easy to install (no wires) and that will never ask electricity from the grid again. A good example are outdoor lights to light up your yard and solar powered lights for security. You just need to install it and you will not need much knowledge for that and your good to go. A solar powered light can be the first step before you move on to a complete residential solar power system.
Home made power can be a real money saver
If you look carefully at the calculations you will see that residential solar power systems are a large investment, but an investment that will pay itself back after a few years. And eventually it can save you a lot of money in the long run. But this investment will immediate save you money on your power bill and that is something that we all can use in this difficult times.
What are the cons?
Well the biggest disadvantage is the investment you need to make, the initial cost of such a system can be a bit costly. But, the choice becomes a lot easier when you see the savings on your electricity bills. It is important to inform yourself about all the pros and cons of residential solar power before you make a decision.
At her website Unlike Normal Energy, Cathy Patterson, will provide you with all kinds of helpful information about residential solar power like, for example, a Solar Security Light.

Using Residential Solar Power “On” or “Off” The Grid
There is a difference between solar energy in residential use and that electricity produced for customers or used in businesses. The two examples of residential solar energy are “off grid” and “grid tied” – also called net metering.
Off Grid
Solar energy generated at a home is not the same as the electricity produced by a utility company and supplied through the grid. Solar energy such as this does not involve residential power lines or the batteries required to store electricity for those times when the sun not available. In the daytime however, the photovoltaic array can store the excess energy in the batteries which is then turned into electricity and given off into the system through the batteries.
In the off grid type of residential solar power systems, there is also need to have a generator which is useful when there is no sunshine as it helps in charging up the batteries rather than use the power from the sun.
Grid Tied
The second kind of solar energy is a net metering system or grid tied, and this type will have power lines connected to a utility company’s electrical system and it does not require batteries for storage. The electric meter will spin backwards in the presence of sunlight, but darkness causes a lack of solar energy which means the meter will spin in a forward direction. This form of residential solar power is administered in a manner quite different from one electric utility company to another with each using its own set of rules and regulations.
There is a lot to recommend using residential solar power in either form since it is a means to get energy that is not only long term, but which is also renewable, and with it, you don’t have to depend any longer on your utility company, and you are also not dependent on foreign governments, and best of all, you don’t need to pay for it. There no doubts that residential solar power is the way to go.
