Question by Candymancan21: Is it reasonable to assume my xbox 360 is free of bad glitches?
I have a Xbox 360 and i got it in 2006. I have only 5 games for it which are Halo 3, Resident Evil 5, Gears of War 1 and 2, and Ghost Recon.

I havent played it much in those 3 1/2 years i mean i’ve beatin Halo 2 like 2 times with it, and Halo 3 i Replayed like 2 times on Normal and Legendary. Then Gears of War 1 i beat at least 3 times, and Gears of War 2 i beat twice. RE:5 i replayed a couple times also.

So just light/normal usage i guess. The only issues i have had with it are Gears 1 and 2 have dirty disk error’s. However further research of that shows its the actual games and not the 360 at least i’ve seen like a million video’s and stuff with Gears of War having with problem. My other games are fine.

I’ve never had RROD, or lockup’s, or wierd graphical error’s or anything like that. I take Great care of my xbox 360 i have it laying on its side and i have 2 of those big game cases for PC games 1 on each side of the xbox under it to raise it in the air. The floppy’s are litterally put on egde to not block the vent holes. Basicallyy doing this keeps the hot bottom from heating up the object its laying on. I think laying the 360 down like that traps the heat between itself and heats up the floor “hardwood” and it just keeps building and gets warmer so raising it in the air keeps a good gap. I also think having the 360 sitting upright is bad too because the legs it has doesnt raise it up high enough for the massive amount of vent holes to really get good air flow.

Anyway im asking this because i watched a video of this guy saying to not buy Halo 3 ODST because it causes graphical glitches ect.. He said it does it to his friends xbox360..

Im just worried about that however i think they just have buggy xbox and got unlocky. I seem to have gotten lucky my first xbox and a older one hasnt giving me any issues cept gears of war. So am i safe to assume my 360 is ok or not ?

Va. Guard Soldiers free trapped motorists

Virginia National Guard Soldiers use chain saws to open a path for 10 motorists trapped after fallen trees blocked them in both directions and left them trapped for more than seven hours on Route 5 near the Richmond National Battlefield Park. In the early morning hours of Aug. 28, Virginia Guard engineers from the Bowling Green-based 189th Engineer Company and the West Point-based 237th Engineer Company were able to cut the large tree into small sections, then move a section out of the road that was large enough to let the vehicles pass through. The Soldiers were on duty helping Virginia State Police clear fallen trees along I-85 near Petersburg after positioning in Sandston since Friday. The Virginia National Guard moved approximately 325 Soldiers, Airmen and members of the Virginia Defense Force to staging areas across the Commonwealth Aug. 26 in preparation for possible duty for recovery operations related to Hurricane Irene. As of Saturday afternoon, personnel were ready for duty in Virginia Guard facilities in Bowling Green, Emporia and Sandston as well as being co-located with Virginia State Police personnel in the Eastern Shore Region of Virginia near Onancock. Personnel are also on duty at the Virginia Guard Joint Operations Center in Sandston providing command and control and logistical support. The Virginia Guard has been authorized to bring as many as 500 personnel on state active duty to support Hurricane Irene operations. Additional forces have been alerted for possible duty after the storm passes through Virginia but have not actually begun staging and are on standby.
