More On Bedroom Remodel

If you have done any home remodeling have your forgot a room? The bedroom remodel is usually the last to get done if at all but in my opinion it should be the first. After all it's the last thing you see when you go to sleep and the first thing when you wake. Don't you want a clean nice decorated room to start your day off on? I know I do. Lets explore the idea of your bedroom decor a little bit more.

Whilst a bedroom is first and foremost a place to sleep each night, it has the potential for being much more and with just a little thought and imagination, remodeling a master bedroom can change it beyond recognition. It is nice to know that if you want to spend some quite time in a relaxing room that it is possible to achieve this in your bedroom whereas you may only have used it to sleep in before. Many other countries are already ahead like the French who have always seen the bedroom as a place of sensuality and decorated it accordingly.

This can be achieved with the use of certain colors that have a warm and emotional feel to them, associated with sensuality; pinks, reds and peaches all fall into this category. Whilst mirrors placed in unusual places can reflect candlelight and tropical plants can add an air of mystery. For other the room can be just as easily converted into a room where a good book can be read on a strategically placed chair or on the bed itself; however this idea goes back to the days when bedrooms were used far more than they are today.

The only other thing you will need to add is sufficient light to read by which could always be a reading lamp on a table next to the chair but make sure the lighting is not to strong or it will spoil the effect. When you are decorating your master bedroom to be a reading room as well, certain colors will need to be used to enhance the effect further like ivory or sage green for instance. For people remodeling the master bedroom into a type of retreat then the addition of large pillows, cushions and colorful throws can help create this effect plus the odd mirror and perhaps a picture or two, preferably a landscape.

If your sanctuary is also a place where you intend to read then the addition of a comfortable chair and a reading lamp will be a simple matter. Normally remodeling a master bedroom that is to serve this purpose will have picture frames placed strategically around with family or friends displayed in them. To create a room where you will feel relaxed and have a good nights sleep then you will need to use darker shades of brown and blue, natural woodland and forest colors also work well.

Where space is not a problem then by placing a small television or writing desk, it can make the master bedroom feel like a place that you can completely retire to. Even fridges are becoming more popular now for storing drinks but this really needs to be placed in a position where it will not disturb the effect you are trying to achieve. As you spend time remodeling your master bedroom in a way that reflects your lifestyle, it can be a worthwhile project and who knows, you may find yourself spending even more time in this often undervalued room.
