For all hunters out there, there’s a room with deer home decor just waiting to be created in their home. At first, it might feel overwhelming to design a complete room around a deer decor theme. But once you get started, you will find various deer home decor items on the web or in stores.

One place to start is to find some wallpaper or at the very least, wallpaper border, with a deer theme. You’ll want to hang this on at least one wall in your deer themed room to set the mood for all the other decor you’ll be adding. Even if you can’t find the wallpaper with actual deer on it, there most certainly is wallpaper with trees, leaves and greenery that will offer your room a woodsy feel. Another option might be a full sized poster-like mural of deer in the woods, which when filling a whole wall, can make a room seem like it’s a part of the outdoors.

Search with Yahoo for deer decor items and you’ll come up with end tables and coffee tables featuring deer legs (some real, some faux), glass top tables etched with beautiful deer art, or tables with hand-carved deer accents. Perhaps an overhead light created with deer antlers is your choice. Positively unique, this type of lighting would be a certain conversation piece and something not everyone would have. If you know how to acquire the antlers, get enough of them and wire them together in a circle. String some small Christmas-type lights on them and go to your local home improvement store and ask how to wire them directly into the ceiling.

Once you have the primary pieces of deer decor established in your room, you can begin to include some smaller decorations. Without much trouble, you should be able to find decorating items to fill those empty locations on tables and walls. How about an oil paintings of a forest scene featuring deer, a coat rack with an etched mirror with a woodsy scene of deer in the tall grass or perhaps a wall clock featuring a deer scene. Drape a deer throw over the back of your sofa or easy chair for a useful as well as ornamental addition to the room. And the real deal, there’s always the old standby, of course: a real mounted deer head.

For those table tops and shelves that are begging to be decorated, why not take a shot at carving a small deer sculpture with a carving knife. If this is not something you could do, a visit to your local craft fair should net an artistic carved figure of a deer or other wildlife. Resin figures are obtainable at most home furnishing stores in various shapes and sizes to fit into most any spot where an accent is desired. Buy some green plants and give the resin deer a home in the planter. With this, you’ll not only increase the number of deer in your room, but the green plants will add to the natural look as well.
Searching on the Internet and visiting home decor stores or catalogs should offer a wide assortment of deer decor and deer mirrors from which to select.

Once finished, open you doors and let friends know immediately that they’re going to take a walk on the wild side where the deer is king.
