Home Renovation Budget Planner

home renovation budget planner

financial planner or someone else?

My husband and I have work to do on our home….we have a baby and are trying to save for another, but are working within a budget to make some home repairs and renovations. We also invest and are saving for our daughter’s education.
We’ve discussed getting a home equity loan and are on the fence about it….we aren’t sure about the best way to juggle our finances without touching our savings and other monies.
Who would be best to go to for this? Do we see a financial planner to help us decide on a course of action, or would those questions be answered if we simply go to the bank and talk with someone there?
Thank you!!

You don’t need a financial planner for this. Use your own good instincts and don’t spend more than you can afford. Sounds like this is what you have been doing up to date. Keep that budget in tack and your daughter’s education. Try to do those repairs over a longer period of time instead of borrowing a bunch of money and paying very high interest rates and losing some HOME EQUITY.
